| Lafayette Payne |
Women 75+ |
"Our class was organized in
1937 under the leadership of Mrs. Lafayette Payne, who
served as teacher until her retirement as Teacher
Emeritus in 1985. Through the years our members have held
positions of leadership and participated actively in the
many facets of life at First Baptist. Today we maintain
deep bonds of loyalty to our church and each other, with
close personal ties of friendship, fellowship and
service. We have a very active well-organized network of
care-giving and outreach. We contribute regularly, as a
class, to various mission projects, and meet socially
several times during the year, including frequent day
trips. The class uses
the Explore the Bible Curriculum Series. It is our chief
aim to make the weekly Bible study interesting, challenging, and
relevant to everyday Christian living. We especially welcome visitors
and new members." |
