Location
First Baptist Church is located in midtown Newport News on Warwick Boulevard (US-60) at the intersection with Maxwell Lane (1 mile southeast of Oyster Point Road). The Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery is just to the northwest of the church. The church is conveniently located for most residents of Newport News and the surrounding areas of Hampton, Poquoson, York County, and Fort Eustis.

There are three entrances to the church's parking areas; the first entrance is opposite Maxwell Lane at the traffic light, the second one is directly in front, and the third is at the northwest end of the church, next to the cemetery. Parking is available on all sides of the church. For visitors and the handicapped, special parking spaces are also available in front of the new sanctuary and on the side of the church facing Warwick Boulevard.

The main floor of the church has been constructed without steps and is wheelchair accessible. Several areas at the ends of selected pews on the main floor of the sanctuary have been designed for wheelchairs. A limited number of wheelchairs are also available for use by those attending the service.

Sunday Services are held in the new sanctuary with the main doors facing south. Before and after the Sunday service, a member of the "Greeters Committee" will be at this door to welcome you and to answer any of your questions.

For Sunday School classes, the doors that face Warwick Boulevard just to the right of the three crosses should be used. This entrance leads to our Sunday School classes and to the church offices. Before each Sunday School session and Sunday Service, a member of the "Greeters Committee" will also be at these doors to greet you and provide any directions you need. Afterwards, a Deacon will be available to answer any of your questions and give you any literature you may need.
